The 'Around the Sun' coffee tables feature rare organic-shaped petrified wood table tops, fused with natural round form, handcarved solid teak bases. Burnt using the traditional method of Shou Sugi Ban to enhance the natural grain and character of the wood.
Petrified wood is created from fossilised trees transformed into stone by a mineralisation process that occurs underground, over hundreds of millions of years. This rare material features striking colours and motifs created by the mineral formation process, comprised of semi-precious minerals such as quartz, chalendony and jasper.
